In the style of Richard COSWAY (1742–1821). A miniature painted on both sides inside an 18-karat gold pendant. One side depicts an 18th-century gentleman in a blue suit and lace ruff. The other side, painted in sepia, shows a scene with female figures dressed in antique style; an open book lies at the feet of one, while the second holds a caduceus in her hand. Most likely English, circa 1790–1810; 4.5 x 3.7 cm. Condition: Very good
